Avtar Human Capital Trust (AHCT) is a not-for-profit organization committed to creating an equitable society by empowering individuals — especially women and youth — through education, employability, and gender sensitivity initiatives.

Q2. What is AHCT’s main goal?

Our mission is to build a gender-balanced India by promoting education, employability, and equality. We achieve this through flagship initiatives such as Project Puthri, MITR, Nipuni Career Pathing Program, and the Puthri Scholarship Program.

Q3. Where does AHCT operate?

We currently reach government schools and colleges across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Bengaluru, with plans to expand to 20 districts across 4 states by 2030, benefiting over 10,000 scholars each year.

Project Puthri

Q1. What is Project Puthri?

Project Puthri is India’s first initiative aimed at building Career Intentionality among underprivileged girl students studying in government schools. It helps them dream bigger, plan better, and work toward meaningful, sustainable careers.

Q2. Who are Puthris?

“Puthris” are the bright young girls we mentor — students from Classes 9 to 12 in government schools — who are trained in life skills, career readiness, and leadership.

Q3. What are the main focus areas of Project Puthri?

We focus on three key pillars — Mentoring, Career Coaching, and Role Modelling — along with eight dimensions of life skills such as communication, confidence, and goal setting.

MITR – Men Impacting Trust and Respect

Q1. What is MITR?

MITR is a gender sensitization program for adolescent boys in government schools. It helps them understand equality, respect, and allyship — shaping them into Men who Impact Trust and Respect.

Q2. Why is MITR important?

Because gender equality begins with awareness. MITR encourages boys to become allies who support and respect women, helping build a generation that values equality, respect, and inclusion.

Nipuni Career Pathing Program

Q1. What is the Nipuni Career Pathing Program?

Nipuni is a continuation of the Puthri journey, designed for young women in higher education. It equips them with employability skills, digital literacy, leadership qualities, and professional polish to thrive in the workplace.

Q2. How is Nipuni delivered?

It’s a hybrid program conducted over 75 hours annually, blending classroom learning, online sessions, and interactive activities.

Puthri Scholarship Program

Q1. What is the Puthri Scholarship Program?

The Puthri Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to deserving Puthris to pursue higher education without financial burden. It ensures that talented girls continue their studies and move closer to achieving their career goals.

Q2. Who funds these scholarships?

Our generous corporate CSR partners and individual donors fund these scholarships, ensuring no deserving girl drops out of college due to financial constraints.

Q3. Can I sponsor a scholar?

Absolutely! You can support a girl’s education by contributing to the Puthri Scholarship Fund. Every contribution makes a lifelong impact on her future.

Donations, Payments & Tax Benefits

Q1. How can I donate to AHCT?

You can make online contributions via our website’s Donate section. Every rupee helps us expand our reach and empower more lives.

Q2. Is it safe to give my credit/debit card details online?

Absolutely. Your safety is our top priority. We use stringent security measures to protect your personal and financial information.

Here’s how we ensure secure transactions:

Q3. Are donations to AHCT eligible for tax exemption?

  • Yes! All donations made to Avtar Human Capital Trust (AHCT) are eligible for tax exemption under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961.

    After your donation is processed, you’ll receive an official receipt and 80G certificate by email. You can use this while filing your income tax returns to claim the deduction.

Q4. How will I receive my donation receipt?

  • You’ll automatically receive an acknowledgment email with a receipt immediately after a successful transaction. For larger donations or partnerships, our team will share an official certificate within a few working days.

Q5. Can I get a refund or cancel my donation?

Since donations are voluntary contributions toward our social programs, they are generally non-refundable. However, if a transaction was made in error, please contact us at info@avtartrust.org within 24 hours, and our team will assist you.
